GUIDE FOR LIVEJOURNAL DUMMIES
To leave a comment, if you have a livejournal you'd know how to already of course. As for those who don't have one, please follow these instructions carefully.
1. Click 'Leave a comment' at the bottom right of the entry. 2. Wait for it to load and you'll be directed to another page. 3. Click 'Anonymous'. 4. I'd highly recommend you to put your name as the 'Subject' text box. 5. Please type your message in the 'Message' text box. 6. When you're done, click 'Post Comment'. 7. A message like this will appear 'Error. Please confirm you are a human below.' Just type in the words that are there. 8. Click 'Post Comment' again and you're done!
SIMPLE!

I'm a Social Studies relief teacher, period.
FOR 2 WEEKS!!!
I totally forgot what Social Studies is all about, whot is with the Source Based Question and reliability and usefulness..
Relief teaching... I can't say that I'm loving it, neither do I dislike it, everything's fine for now..just a few problematic and defiant students here and there.. And of course there are nice students. :)
I guess people really do judge you by your appearance, my students think that I'm very petite and can be easily bullied but truth is, yes you can do your own things and talk but don't go overboard like throw paper planes and do magic tricks in class please..and I hate it when my voice is not loud enough, I think I should go and buy a microphone..
How do you discipline a class?? You know, BOOOMXxX..(side track) hahahaha Ris Low, I'll talk about her later! I mean like you know, how do you portray the 'Don't mess with me' kind of image and yet be likable as well?
Like for instance, today afternoon an indian lady teacher interrupted my class because she had to announce something important, regarding the deadline for a project or something and the class was so quiet you can actually hear them breathing.
No PSPs, no chinese chess, nobody using their cellphones.
Totally 2 different world.
Just as soon as that teacher steps out of the class, it's like the students just revert back to their rebellious state. PSPs and gadgets of all sort start appearing from nowhere and students started whipping out their cellphones to text.
I know I have the 'YOU CAN BULLY ME AND I'LL CRY AND NOT SCOLD THE CLASS' face but oh well...
But at least I confiscated a cellphone today! :)

| The cinemas battle! |

Why Golden Village Cinema SUCKS #01. It's $7.50 per person, no student price, nothing. #02. You can't choose your seats.. *gasps* #03. The seats are not spacious, worse still, no couple seats. #04. The seats are arranged in a way that the ground is flat all the way, which means that people sitting at the last few rows might not be able to see the screen clearly if the fellow in front has a big head. #05. The screen is soooo small. #06. You have to enter the cinema from the front, so that means you have to climb up a flight of stairs if your seat's at the back, so awkward..
Why Cathay ROCKS #01. Student price of $6. #02. You CAN choose your seats. :) #03. The seats are spacious, and there are couple seats. #04. There is a gradual sloping of the seats, so the people sitting at the back can have a clear view of the screen. #05. The screen is huuuuuge. #06. You enter the cinema from the back, it's more discreet that way right..
So in a nutshell, Cathay rocks, and on top of that, you get to save $1.50. I'm never ever setting foot at Golden Village.. So...Cathay or Golden Village for you now? Hahahaha..

| THE GIFT. |
[Apr. 27th, 2009|11:04 pm] |

All this while, I've been searching for my 'gift'. I knew that I wasn't good at anything, be it academics, be it sports, be it music, be it artistic and so on and so forth. There's this saying 'The more you look for something, the more you won't find it'. How true..
After 18 years of my life, I finally found my 'gift'. I am so thankful to have this 'gift', it's not anything extraordinary, but I'm glad that I have it. It'd actually been with me for quite awhile.
Having this 'gift' from God, I'll definitely use it wisely to help others, to make them feel better. I really appreciate this 'gift' which always brings out the glow in me. It's utterly strong and powerful, when it's being used, and it always leaves me feeling so important and special.
Even though it's so subtle, and it can or can't be applied to everyday life, depending on circumstances, I will treasure this 'gift' with all my heart.
Thank You God. :) |
